All Samantha Williams wants is to use her teaching degree to instruct a classroom of second graders. With a breast cancer diagnosis at the age of twenty-three, and failed reconstruction surgery, Sam finds herself without a job and temporarily living with her parents. This isn’t the life Sam expected. When a family friend dies and leaves Sam a house and land in Whispering Creek, Tennessee, Sam must decide if leaving Wisconsin for Southern living is in her lesson plans.
Nashville native, Cole Donoven, left his family’s electrical business to write country music. When Cole’s song writing partner and girlfriend dumps him for a country music star, Cole abandons Nashville to hold up in Whispering Creek and compose one more song. The last thing Cole expects to find in the sleepy small town is a deceased friend, estate squabbles, and a Northern beauty. Will the chaos in Whispering Creek help create a bestselling song for Cole and possibly help him find a life-long collaborator?

Excited to see this contemporary Christmas story by Barbara M. Britton!
Hi Roxanne! I had fun writing a contemporary romance. I am accustomed to writing biblical stories. I could actually use smartphones and texting in my story. Thanks for joining us.
This sounds like such an interesting and thought inspiring story. I cannot wait to read it!
I appreciate all the comments and participation in my tour. Thanks so much.

Would love to read. Thank you for sharing. Blessings
Sounds amazing!
Beautiful cover. Sounds like it could be a slightly hard/emotional read.
Thank you for all the wonderful comments! I like my cover, too. I am blessed in that I have loved all of my book covers. I have input into the cover, but when it comes from the publisher, it is final. I’ve only had one cover change, and that was a shock to me. It did change for the better.
While I do cover breast cancer survival, I made the story lighthearted and added humor. That’s what Sam’s best friend Emma is for.
I share my journey through breast cancer at the end of the story. I hope it inspires and encourages readers. Life isn’t always easy, but I wouldn’t change anything. God has taught me so much through the struggle with cancer.
I appreciate all of the support! Thank you for making me feel blessed.
Congratulations on your release of Christmas at Whispering Creek, Barbara, your book sounds like my kind of holiday read! Good luck with your book and the tour!
Thanks for sharing it with me and have a magical holiday season!
It looks like a winner
Marion
Thank you, Eva. I hope readers enjoy the story. It’s a book of my heart.
Thanks for joining us, Marion. I appreciate you being here.
I hate to say it, but the plot sounds too far fetched to be plausible. Breast Cancer does terrible things to a person’s mind, I doubt she would even look twice at a love interest, even if he was hotter than the sun, daily survival would take up most of her time.
Hi Food Historian. I made my heroine a survivor, so the day-to-day survival, and the questioning if you will beat cancer is in the past. I tried to make Sam’s doubts real. I am a breast cancer survivor and a breast-free woman. I placed my journey at the back of the book which was far worse than Sam’s so readers could see the angst involved with cancer and how God got me through the scary journey.
I also wanted to shine a light on how young women are getting breast cancer. I thought twenty-three would be too young to get breast cancer, but my oncologist said “No.” Since writing the book, I have heard of women being diagnosed with breast cancer at 21 and 28 years of age. We have some education to do for young women. Mammography usually starts at age 40, so you can see the gap in years and detection.
The book may not be for everyone. I always say to authors, not every book is for every reader. I believe I have a unique perspective to write this book in grace and love and wisdom.
I appreciate you joining us and bringing your thoughts out in the open so I could respond to them. It’s hard to give the full breadth of a book in a blurb.
Merry Christmas.
Beautiful cover
Thank you, Terri. My publisher did a great job. I never know what my covers will look like until they arrive from PBG. Then, they are pretty set in stone. Thanks for joining us.
Sounds like a great read! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for joining us, Connie. This was my first Christmas novel. It was fun to write a Christmas story.
This story sounds captivating, beautiful, unforgettable and meaningful. Barbara is so courageous, and a real survivor whose writing is extraordinary. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 and am healthy now. Best wishes for your great health.
Hi Anne. Thank you for your encouragement. I’m happy to hear that you are a breast cancer survivor. I received my all-clear in 2016. Thanks for joining us on the tour and sharing with us.

I will love reading a contemporary fiction by Barbara! I love the historical fiction ones!
Hi Donna! Thank you for reading my historicals. Yes, contemporary romance was a new genre for me. I didn’t see how I could write about breast cancer in a biblical novel. It’s great to see you here.
