Peace.

The very word evokes images of serene landscapes and quiet stillness. In today’s chaotic world, peace is a valuable commodity. The Bible has a lot to say about peace, claiming that God himself is the ultimate source. In this follow-up to Names of God: Living Unafraid, Grace Fox reflects on how the following names of God point to the peace our souls so desperately crave:

Yahweh Shalom—The Lord Is Peace
Abba—Father
El Shaddai—God Almighty
El Roi—The God Who Sees Me
Yahweh Ori—The Lord Is My Light
Yahweh Nissi—The Lord Is My Banner
Immanuel—God with Us

Knowing Peace uses examples from Scripture and compelling real-life stories to illustrate how these names can bring inner peace amid life’s storms. Each session includes a guided prayer, reflection questions, and a video link providing additional insights from Grace. Perfect for individual or group study, this new addition to the Names of God series will encourage and inspire readers to draw near to God and receive his peace that passes understanding (Philippians 4:7).

I have just recently bought “Morning Moments with God: Devotions for the Busy Woman” by Grace Fox. I have it on my nightstand by my bed.

      Hi Regina:
I learned so much through writing this book and the other one in this three-books series (the third will be released next summer). We discover a TON about who God is as manifest through His names, and wow — the incredible peace we can experience as a result. Mind-blowing.

      Hi Natalya:
This devotional is a little different than the average. I’ve written many devotionals that have anywhere from 80-160 daily readings — little nuggets of encouragement and inspiration. This book has seven chapters with five days’ worth of reflection/further study questions after each chapter PLUS bonus video teaching. It makes a wonderful devotional study to do with friends.

This book sounds like a wonderful addition to include in my bible studying at home. I’m always looking for devotionals that help bring me closer to God!

I am certain that my aunt would love this book, this is the Genre I always look for.

Hi Jessica! It’s called a devotional study because it’s written in a devotional style with lots of stories (biblical and real-life) and application. It’s actually a seven-chapter book — every chapter takes a deep dive into one name of God and includes growth questions and bonus video teaching. So, some folks might use it like a devotional, but it’s ideally a study for individual or group use.
